WHARFEDALE RAMBLE WALKING HOLIDAY

Muddy Boots organised a marvelous walking holiday--complete with thorough and prompt communications, a fun welcome pack, solid directions, and really lovely sites and information along the way. I would absolutely recommend Muddy Boots! Helen was marvelous--and worked with my very late booking, and specific changes. So, so grateful for a great trek! Thank you, Helen, and Muddy Boots; loved the walk, and just wish it were longer!

We just want to thank you for a lovely holiday. Your involvement, attention to detail and support was fantastic. The walks were beautiful and we could always trust your route descriptions implicitly. The chosen accommodation was comfortable and friendly and (although it wasn't initially the plan) the luxury of the last two nights at The Traddock with it's excellent food was a bonus.

The whole week has just served to increase our love for the Dales, even though we were often walking in the rain!

Thank you again. We've even started looking at which route we could do next :)

Everything has been terrific and we have really appreciated your attention to details.  We have done a couple of other similar self-guided walks in other areas and we must say that your printed route descriptions on water proof paper, with photos of key areas, were BY FAR the BEST we’ve ever experienced.  It felt like someone was right there going along with us explaining and giving section by section directions.  Well done and appreciated!  The inns were delightful, comfortable, and perfect for this trip.  We just wish we had a little more time here this trip, but we had a terrific taste of The Dales and would love to return.

I wanted to say a big thank you from all of us for organising us such a fantastic few days in Swaledale.  We absolutely loved the scenery and were incredibly lucky with the weather in the end.  We only had rain on one day and even that wasn’t too bad.  We managed lots of dips too and saw so few people along the way.  The accommodation was all great too.  We really appreciated all the information you provided and the goodies waiting for us when we arrived!  The small route cards were perfect and all very easy to follow.

I'm just writing to say how much we enjoyed our walking holiday. We loved the routes and both commented on how thoughtfully you have planned this route through Swaledale. It was a perfect introduction to this region for me (even with the rain!). 

The route maps with app and your detailed guiding notes were great. All the arrangements and planning your end made the holiday stress-free for us, so thank you for all the organising here.

Just wanted to write a review of our trip to Yorkshire. Every detail was as planned , the goody box on arrival at Middenham was delightful and map plus route notes were excellent , so too the extras.

All our accommodation was superior to other walking companies we have used, delicious choice of foods to fuel our exercise.

The folk that we met along the way were pleasant and happy to chat, we saw hares in abundance and curlew, great!

So thank you at Muddy Boots for the planning of our trip, we shall definitely use you again.

EXPLORING LIMESTONE COUNTRY WALKING HOLIDAY

The holiday was everything we had hoped for and more! Starting with 2 nights and a circular walk in Malham was a great way to settle into the rhythm of the holiday before setting off on the walks to the onward locations. And it was great to know that everything was arranged and arrive to find the holiday pack with the walking notes, maps, bottles and thoughtful souvenirs ready for us, and find our luggage waiting for us at each new stop we arrived at.

Having had some difficulty finding a walking break that took us enough of a distance and fitted with the time we had and our preferred amount of walking, it was a breath of fresh air to be met by the positivity, flexibility, attention to detail and thoughtfulness of Helen from Muddy Boots. No question or request was too difficult or too demanding and she went out of the way to provide information including the OS walking routes to help me be confident of the right choice of break and adaptations to it. Thank you!

Just a note to let you know we've had a brilliant time. The walks were superb and all the recommendations were perfect, even the weather didn't dampen our spirits. So many types of terrain and views for such a short walk. We loved the Inns, so friendly and cosy.

You must have good connections higher up as we only had a sprinkle in Skipton on the first day. We had such a great time, thank you so much for all of the work that you put into making these walking tours really enjoyable. We had such a great time and learned a lot about the Yorkshire region. The accommodations were lovely and the food was amazing at each hotel! I think we got very lucky with the weather and I even joked with my husband that he was not getting the true England experience with the weather. We had sunny days and perfect temperatures for walking. Everything was perfect and the route notes were incredibly detailed. We are definitely wanting to plan another trip soon!

I wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful time I had while on my walking tour of the Yorkshire Dales.  I loved every moment.  The walks were lovely,  scenery stunning,  villages totally charming.  The description of the walks with accompanying notes were perfect.  I enjoyed the Spring flowers, the lambs and the lovely folks I met along the way. 

I can imagine all the time and effort you and your team put into these tours, it really shows. I will be looking forward to returning again when I am able.  I will also be recommending Muddy Boots to my friends.

As has been our previous experience, we really enjoyed the trip. Fantastic walking, routes are extremely well planned and varied terrain. We walked along paths we never would have found for ourselves. Helen understands what we want from a walking holiday and is able to suggest routes and places to stay that suit.

Muddy Boots provides excellent route notes with clear instructions and interesting points of interest. Our favourite thing about the trip was having the time to walk and talk together in stunning countryside and fresh air. We have recommended Muddy Boots to a number of friends and family and are looking forward to trying their new Lake Distrct routes soon!

BESPOKE FULLY GUIDED WALKING HOLIDAY

Our hiking trip was wonderful! I'm still struck by how peaceful it was, listening to the birds sing, watching the ewes with their little lambs, most days there was a river near by.

Matt and Helen planned a trip for us to see the best the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Matt was our guide for the week, a first for their business. I really appreciate that he took time away from his family for us. We learned to much about the area as he walked through with us, the history, the politics, about everyday life. Looking back, it was enchanting, which might sound a little silly, but I think it fits. It wasn't all a stroll in the park, we did have a couple days with challenges, but we wanted that too. And we met them head on.

Oh! My! We stayed in some nice places! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the food was wonderful. The villages we stayed in were beautiful! It's hard to pick a best thing about the trip. The peacefulness. The people. The food. The beauty of the land. The exercise and fresh air.

We had a fabulous time and enjoyed all the fabulous routes selected. We were fortunate to have good weather most days and enjoyed the variety of scenery within each walk and lOved Wensleydale!

We would certainly book.again next year and look at which other routes we might choose. All in all you provided an excellent service.

Thank you! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to do this on my own, after a couple of really challenging years, it was exactly what I needed to get moving, clear my mind and experience fresh air and nature in a landscape that was absolutely breathtaking. I will remember this for ever.

Just to say thank you very much for your assistance with our recent trip to Yorkshire. we both thoroughly enjoyed the walking/accommodation and all the extras provided. The two routes were perfect for us in terms of distance/terrain although somewhat muddy in parts!! We will definitely return to explore a bit more of the beautiful area.

The holiday was absolutely fabulous! It rained and was incredibly muddy, but I loved every minute of it, and felt like I got to switch off completely :)

 I thought the routes you suggested were spot on. I wouldn't have been brave enough to choose them myself, but the directions were easy to follow, and very accurate. I was able to focus on the walk rather than map reading, and that really made a huge difference for me. 

 The places were great too. Thanks for sorting out such a great trip, and I will definitely be booking another one!

“We wanted to walk in a new area and rest up and eat well in cosy pubs. Helen understood exactly and this route was perfect for us. Loved not having a car. Helen took care of all the details - taxis, welcome packs, booked us dinner in the pubs. The route notes were very clear. We learnt we could trust them completely and the map was great. I liked the handy size of the route directions and having them printed on thicker card too. The best thing about our trip was the independence but with the confidence that all the details were curated. I didn’t fret about logistics at all. The route was great. We hardly saw anyone else and loved being out in the fells.”
